How To Advocate For Yourself As A Patient – At The Bcid

On September 19th, 2019, I spoke at the Brooklyn Center for Independence of the Disabled (BCID).

The talk was called “How to Advocate for Yourself as a Patient” Most of the participants were disabled, and their disabilities ran the gamut.

It was wonderful to see their faces light up as they started to understand how they could incorporate the information into their lives and how it could improve their future doctors’ appointments.

In the end, the participants were excited to leave with new tools and information to help them make the most out of their doctor interactions.
